Farmland owners in Iowa want a return on investment every year. Many who cash rent their land to farmers have based the decision on how much they could gain from each acre every year.
A land management company is suggesting a change in the equation. The change would consider sustainability and whether land would be more valuable in the long-term to stop making management decisions on the short-term.
