The farm safety net appears to be the top priority for the upcoming farm bill, according to lawmakers. During a Farm Bill listening session in Smithfield, North Carolina, Senator John Boozman, the ranking Republican on the Senate Agriculture Committee, details the issues farmers are voicing.
Boozman says that in the current economic environment, risk management is an important part of the 2023 Farm Bill.
He says that farm bill discussions have not been partisan and are instead collaborative.
