The fight over the Renewable Fuel Standard continues with a EPA hearing this week in Kansas City. The Petroleum industry remains a staunch opponent of blending ethanol into gasoline but the criticism from the livestock industry has subsided.

Bill Couser is a farmer and livestock feeder near Nevada, Missouri. He summed up his views of the controversy over the RFS. Couser sees ethanol production as part of a complete cycle of farm, food, and fuel. Bill Full Couser Interview

Chip Bowling, is a Maryland farmer serving as president of the National Corn Growers (Chip Bowling Interview). Roger Zylstra, an Iowa Farmer and past president of the Iowa Corn Growers also testified in favor of expanding the RFS (Roger Zylstra Interview). EPA Officials listened to testimony from 150 witnesses representing all segments of the biofuels industry.
