Dredging Lower Mississippi makes money for farmers

In his State of the Union (SOTU) speech, President Donald Trump mentioned rebuilding infrastructure as a bipartisan effort that might be accomplished in the next two years.

A Democrat-controlled house should favor some of the rebuilding projects cited: Roads, bridges and waterways. Republicans have also shown support for these projects. But the cost can be in the trillions of dollars.

Mike Steenhoek, executive director of the Soy Transportation Coalition (STC), talked to me yesterday about the increased efficiency of improving the Lower Mississippi by dredging.
