There are many times when I want to throw in the towel on people. I hate admitting that, but sometimes I get overwhelmed with discouragement because of people’s choices.
There is a certain person in my life that regularly leaves me in complete sobs over their actions and decisions.
The truth is, if you really love someone, at some point they will disappoint you. Love them anyways.
Lately, I’ve learned this concept. Like I said, I’ve been pretty brokenhearted. There has been times where the situation looks to be a lost cause. It seems as if things are to the point of no return. It seems as if I’m wasting my time and should just quit, but don’t.
Do not give up on loving that person that hurts to love.
Most the people Jesus interacted with were very hard to love. There wasn’t a single person in his inner circle that didn’t disappoint him at one time or another.
However, Jesus saw past the disappointment and never gave up on the people he loved.
One of my favorite authors Mark Batterson said, “We give up too easily. We give up too soon. We quit praying right before the miracle happens.”
So, whoever that person is in your life that is breaking your heart, do not give up on loving and praying for them! You never know when the miracle might happen.
Prayer: “Jesus, thank you that you never gave up on me, or any of your children. Give me the strength and the love not to give up on the others around me. In your name I pray, Amen.”
