Tonight, the eyes of the baseball world will once again be on Dyersville, Iowa, and the second annual Field of Dreams game. The filming site of the 1989 classic is Rahe Farms, and the original field is still inspiring people to come from all over the world to see the iconic site.

Major League Baseball constructed an eight thousand-seat stadium next to the original field and held its inaugural game last year between the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees. This year the Chicago Cubs will square off against the Cincinnati Reds in the second installment of the game. Fans and players will walk into the stadium passing through rows of corn, reminiscent of the movie.

That corn will all be Dekalb?.

Jamie Horton is the Dekalb? Brand Manager. She talks about the designation from MLB.

With Iowa being the leader in corn production in the United States, it is natural to believe that with all the companies that it would be a heated competition. However, Rahe Farms has been planting Dekalb? brand corn for quite some time, and if the game takes place on their farm, it will definitely be their acres making that decision for the MLB.

We know that many of tonight?s players and attendees may not have that personal connection to the farm. Not only will it be a great experience to walk through the corn, when they normally don?t have the opportunity to do so; but it also will be a great showcase for what makes Iowa what it is.

Of course, it is also a great opportunity to promote both the Dekalb? brand and Ag in general.

Tonight?s game will be broadcast on FOX.
