The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) was agreed to last weekend after the hurdle with access to Canadian dairy markets was cleared. What does this mean for dairy farmers in the U.S.?

Sarah Schmidt of AMPI, based in New Ulm, MN says the USMCA agreement is great news for dairy producers.

Schmidt says another big plus was keeping Mexico?s market open for U.S. cheese products.

While American dairy producers will have more access to the Canadian markets, Schmidt says it is too early to know how much access has been granted.
