CRP enrollment offers options for water-logged northern Iowa

The heavy rains which have fallen in northern Iowa have exacerbated a problem many farmers already deal with: wet areas in their fields. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) reminds farmers the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) is another option for them to consider.

USDA Iowa State Director Amanda DeJong gives us a breakdown on the options CRP enrollment could give farmers who deal with recurring wet areas.

CRP does provide a longer-term solution to some of these ?sensitive? areas, as DeJong explains. She also reminds producers with expiring contracts to come into their local office.
