And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. -Mark 8:34
The other day I was spacing off sitting on our couch at home, when I noticed something about our doors. Every door in the house either looks like it has the lower case i on it, or the lower case t, depending on how you look at it.
Then, as I was just staring at this door God revealed to me that we get the chance to look at life the same way.
We either look at things through the perspective our ourselves (i), or the cross.
When we see the “i” and not the cross we let our desires, wants, passions, possessions, and selfishness lead.
When we see the cross we let Christ’s desires, wants, passions, and love lead.
So, which perspective of the door are you going to see life through?
Is life going to be about you or the cross?
Prayer: “God, help me to see things through the cross perspective instead of just seeing things through my own selfish ambition. Help the cross always take the lead. In your name I pray, Amen.”
