Corteva has launched its new carbon initiative to ?develop innovative products and services.? This new program will ?ease access to carbon credits and create flexible solutions to help farmers increase profitability while contributing to a climate change solution.?

Ben Gordon is Corteva?s leader for its Carbon & Ecosystems Portfolio. He explains how the program works for farmers. There are a few options to use conservation practices to generate more income for the farm.

Getting started is as easy as going to www.corteva.com, or by visiting with your Corteva or Pioneer representative. The program is running in the ?I-States? (Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana). Once they help you determine which new practice will work best for you, you work with your rep and run data through the free Granular Insights App. This app interacts seamlessly with any of the crop data gathering platforms you are already using.

Gordon says there is a lot of noise out there about carbon credits. They are trying to make a simple program to help guide you into something that can provide a solid revenue stream going into the future while doing good for the environment. There is even an opt-out clause if you decide this isn?t right for you.

The big question is how is the data and payment structure calculated. Gordon explains how low-risk this is for farmers to get involved.

Gordon says that Corteva is willing to put their money where their mouth is on this program. He invites producers to shop other programs and determine if this program is right for your operation. However, Gordon is certain that Corteva will rise to the challenge and have the best offerings.
