On Tuesday there was a 4R Plus field day at the Iowa State University Extension Education Lab outside of Ames. A lot of information was provided in the breakout sessions. But the message was clear. Things must change for the future of agriculture and soil health.

When visiting with Roger Wolf of the Iowa Soybean Association he said nutrient reduction strategies are no longer a dream, they are a necessity.

Wolf says we could add another “R” into the mix, and that is relationships. He says the cooperation of producers and organizations is what is going to drive the program forward.

Wolf says it really comes down to two things: too much water or not enough water.
