Sometimes it is good to hear another perspective.

We heard from several members of Congress, while in Washington, D.C. this week. They took the time to plead their case to a group of agricultural broadcasters from across the country. The group consisted of broadcasters from New York to North Carolina, all across the corn and soybean belts and from Kansas and Texas.

One of the strongest advocates for food and nutrition is Congresswoman Rosa Delauro from Connecticut.

She is on the Agricultural Appropriations Committee and has served in many capacities over her tenure in the House of Representatives. Whether you agree with her or not, she is a force to be reckoned with every time there is food and farm legislation.

Rosa Delauro serves the Democratic leadership as co-chair of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee and is Ranking Member of the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Subcommittee, where she oversees our nation?s investments in education, health and employment. Rosa also serves on the subcommittee responsible for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, where she oversees food and drug safety
