The Chairmen of the United States House and Senate Ag Committees had a meeting with President Trump about the Farm Bill and other issues on Thursday.

House Ag Committee Chairman Mike Conaway (R-TX 11th District) joined Senate Ag Committee Chairman Pat Roberts (R-KS) in a meeting with President Trump about agriculture issues, namely the Farm Bill.

Conaway says that the President is aware of the pinch being felt in rural America and wants to help.

Conaway states that the President is aware of how a volatile trade climate hurts rural America, and the President is mindful of the importance of getting a Farm Bill done.

Chairman Conaway is hopeful that there will be enough votes to keep the House Version of the Farm Bill moving forward.

Conaway says there are ways the President can help support the House version of the bill.
