Come As You Are

The Spirit and the Bride say, ?Come.? And let the one who hears say, ?Come.? And let the one who is thirsty come. -Revelation 22:17

This time of year is hard for the clean freaks (me).

I feel like I just finish cleaning my floor, and my dogs come in with their muddy paws and mess up everything that I had cleaned.

I become aggravated, and insist that they be spotless before they enter into the house.

What if God was that way? …yikes.

Instead God says, “Come as you are.” Too often our message is, “Change who you and then you can come.”

God, forgive us for expecting ourselves and others to be spotless before your throne.

The beautiful thing about what Jesus did for us, was that we can now come as we are.

No mess is too great for the power of the blood of Jesus that washes you completely clean.

Whatever is holding you back from Him, whatever shame, insecurity, guilt, or fear that is keeping you from stepping into His presence and inviting Him to work in your life, leave it at the foot of the cross knowing that nothing is keeping you from Him.

Come dirty and muddy. He will take care of the spotless part.

Prayer: “God, thank you that I can come to you as I am. I am filthy, and yet you want me. In your name I pray, Amen.”
