The city of Ames will make their case to the Iowa Economic Development Authority Wednesday afternoon to annex 1,350 acres of land east of the city. According to the Ames Tribune, one fifth of landowners oppose the annexation. A brief filed with IEDA states the city wants to annex the land just east of town to 590th Avenue.

This area happens to border the DuPont cellulosic ethanol plant and the Nevada City limits. The Ames Economic Development Commission wants to use the area to add more industrial space. The meeting is set for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at 200 East Grand Ave. in Des Moines. You may also watch the hearing online via livestream.
