China?s Ministry of Agriculture approved one of Syngenta?s corn traits.

Syngenta received import approval of their Agrisure Duracade corn trait Monday. Agrisure Duracade features a unique mode of action, which helps control corn rootworm in efforts to provide a healthier crop with higher yield potential.

Syngenta CEO Erik Fyrwald said, ?Obtaining this regulatory approval opens up new opportunities for Syngenta?s corn seed portfolio, and growers can expect more choice and exciting new hybrids, offering elite genetics plus the latest in corn rootworm control technology.?

The import approval covers corn grain and processing co-products, such as dried distillers grains (DDGs), for food and feed use. Corn rootworm is said to cost U.S. growers more than $1 billion annually due to yield losses and costs of control measures.
