Farmers looking for a place to challenge the status quo should head to Omaha next week. Farmers Business Network will host their third annual Farmer2Farmer Conference December 13 through the 15. Joel Akers of Van Meter is an account executive for FBN. He says membership has taken off.

?We started building the membership in August 2014, just over three years later, we are almost over 4,700 members across the country,? Akers says.

Akers says being a member of FBN has many benefits.

?Everything we do is for the value of farmers. All the information we add into the network is to help them increase their margins.?

He says the network offers many ways to help farmer-members.

?The biggest thing is through transparency of information. We?ve done a seed relabeling study. Basically, it?s been a secret in the industry where different genetics are being sold by different companies and tied that information together,? Akers says.

A featured speaker at this year?s conference is Shark Tank?s Kevin O? Leary. The conference begins next Wednesday night Dec 13th at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha. It runs until Friday. Register here.
