Blockchain technology allows traceback of farm commodities

Traceback of farm products to the original source is becoming a requirement by many retailers.

There is a new technology, called blockchain, that brings all records together so they may be accessed very quickly.

Walmart recently announced grocery supply chain suppliers of leafy green vegetables must use the Blockchain IBM Food Trust Network by January 31, 2019. Nigel Gopie, a marketing leader for IBM Food Trust, spoke at the 2018 Feeding Quality Forum and told attendees how the new technology works.
