Block: Trump’s tariffs bad for agriculture

Former United States Secretary of Agriculture John Block is quite attuned to farmer fears of a trade war brought on by President Trump and his decision to implement tariffs on steel and aluminum imported into the United States.

Block, a farmer at heart and long time Washington, D.C. resident, sees both sides. He wants to go with his Republican instincts and support the President. However, he cannot condone tariffs leading to trade sanctions against farm exports and higher machinery prices for farmers.
