It is not your average Friday. Today marks the last trading day of the fiscal year.

On October 1, at midnight, the current Farm Bill is history. We will only have archaic permanent legislation. In Washington, it does not look like the expiration of a farm bill is of any importance compared to the Supreme Court battle, North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) negotiations with Canada and the potential for a government shutdown.

Chaos appears to be the new normal in the District of Columbia.
