John Block is going on adventure. He is leading a group of farm broadcasters on a two week trip to China.
My bond with Mr. Block has been strong and long standing. I was a young farm broadcaster in Kansas when he was appointed as United States Secretary of Agriculture. I was one of four reporters with him on a 1981 trip to Korea, Japan and China. This will be his first trip back since then.
I have been back twice since, in 2008 and 2013. The country has changed amazingly in the short time since.
Block sets the stage for the upcoming trip.
