Tyson Foods? packing plant fire, in western Kansas, caused major disruption in the cattle industry. Not as much about capacity as a plunge in prices.

The anger in the cattle industry was as intense as the fire that shut down the 3,000 head per day slaughter facility.

Livestock economists are still studying the impact of the event on cattle prices.
