Beef industry worried about Senate Farm Bill

As summer starts, is there a chance to get a farm bill passed in this session of Congress? The Senate has a bill out of committee and ready for a floor vote, but a cattle industry lobbyist says they do not know a lot of what is in the bill and the Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccine bank has no funding.

The process to get approval on a final Farm Bill for 2018 continues to progress, still with a lot unknowns regarding what exactly is in the Senate?s version of the bill, recently passed out of committee. That is according to Colin Woodall of the National Cattlemen?s Beef Association in Washington, D.C. Woodall talked about those concerns with Radio Oklahoma Ag Network farm director Ron Hays
