We have all gotten the advice to be careful what you wish for. In our case, Iowa farmers have been wishing for rain. However, this probably wasn’t we had in mind.
Mother Nature apparently got sick and tired of us asking for rain like a bunch of persistent toddlers, and she hit parts of Iowa with an attitude over the weekend. Alex Krull of the Des Moines National Weather Service recaps some of the mayhem.
There is also some concern for some more minor flooding issues in the Western part of the state.
Krull looks at the wet forecast for the rest of Monday.
Krull reminds us what these heavy rains can do on soil that was dry to begin with. This especially the problem in places like Mason City.
