Bayer supporting youth in agriculture in several ways

Youth are the future of agriculture. This may seem like an obvious statement, but in an ever-changing industry like agriculture, we need to do our best to make sure today?s ag youth are prepared to be tomorrow?s leaders. Many of those leaders will grow up on farms, but others will come from more urban backgrounds. Regardless, it?s important that we foster a passion for agriculture in those kids who show an interest. Fortunately, we have many industry-leading companies, like Bayer, that are on a mission to support youth in agriculture. Bayer?s Tami Craig Schilling talked about their involvement with groups like FFA and 4-H.

Schilling said they?re seeing more and more non-farm kids become interested in food and agriculture, mostly because families are becoming so removed from farms in general.

Schilling added that investing in the youth will also help to increase ag literacy in the future.

Bayer also has options for anyone to get involved in the mission to support youth in agriculture. Schilling said the signup period is open for the Bayer Fund?s America?s Farmers Grow Communities program.
