Bayer Fund announced the kickoff of the 2022 America?s Farmers Grow Communities program this past Monday. The program has been reworked to make it even easier for Iowa farmers to enroll and help fund the organizations and institutions that allow their communities to thrive. Eligible farmers can enroll from now until November 1 for the chance to direct a donation to a local eligible nonprofit organization, school STEM program, or youth agriculture program of their choice. Additionally, the donation amount has doubled from $2,500 to $5,000. Erin Glarner, Bayer?s Community Outreach Manager, said they did so because they saw an even greater opportunity to give back to rural communities.

The future of agriculture rests on the shoulders of the young agriculturists in our rural communities. As a result, America?s Farmers programs have awarded over $60 million since 2010 to thousands of nonprofits, schools, and ag students across rural America- including $3.1 million dollars in Grow Communities donations to local schools and nonprofits in Iowa. Glarner said the Bayer Fund wants to use these donations to provide those young agriculturists with greater resources so they can fully reach their potential as future industry leaders.

Glarner added that, although the donation amount might seem small, the impact over time is much greater.

Farmers who are 21 years of age or older and are actively engaged in farming at least 250 acres of any crop can enter for a chance to win online at www.americasfarmers.com or by calling 1-877-267-3332 toll-free. Glarner said that farmers who have participated in the past will automatically receive an enrollment postcard in the mail.

The winners of the Bayer Fund?s America?s Farmers Grow Communities program donations will be announced January 2022.
