The Bayer Fund?s America?s Farmers Grow Communities Program is designed to give farmers the chance to dictate where support is needed in local communities.

That?s Erin Glarner, Bayer?s Community Outreach Manager. Glarner says that farmers who would like a chance to participate in the program can apply in a straightforward process.

The Bayer Fund then will determine who is awarded the monetary donations.

The funds are then given to farmers across the country to decide which part of their community is most in need of help.

The funds are grouped in $5,000 donations which are given to local eligible nonprofits, schools, or ag programs.

In Iowa, farmers have directed more than $5.2 million in Grow Communities donations to local schools and nonprofits.
