A freeze in late spring devastated apple orchards across the Midwest, but the drought actually helped what few apples survived. Iowa Orchard in Urbandale is run by Bryan Etchen; this year the orchard took losses, but by reducing wholesaling and donations, customers stopping by the store on Meredith Drive won’t be significantly affected.
