The Asian markets are an interesting area right now for American agriculture products. A free-trade deal with Korea, talks of a bilateral trade agreement with Japan, and question marks over trade with China, have made for some good talk. One thing is certain, the Asian markets are becoming more and more receptive to U.S. meat products.

The US Meat Export Federation’s Senior Vice President of the Asian Pacific Joel Haggard says the Asian markets have created a “meat boom”.

Haggard says a demographic shift is occurring.

Haggard says the consumption of U.S. beef and pork is rising across Asian countries. However, Chinese consumption of U.S. pork is way down.
