The United States Department of Agriculture and United States Trade Representative announced last week, markets have reopened for US pork exports to Argentina.

It was good news for Iowa pork producers and the whole pork industry, that Argentina was ready to start ?rakin? in the bacon? once again, from the United States. This marks the first imports of U.S. pork to the South American country since 1992. US Meat Export Federation?s Dan Halstrom says this is pleasing news.

How much growth are we planning to see right away from the opening of the Argentine market? Halstrom explains the growth will start out small and grow steadily.

Halstrom talks about the most marketable cuts in Argentina, including shoulder butts and picnics.

Halstrom is excited to see continued trade growth for U.S. meat products.
