Fertilizer challenges have certainly headlined the news recently, and some hard and painful lessons have been learned. These challenges were led by disruptions in the supply chain and the resulting higher fertilizer prices. This not only has farmers scrambling for alternatives, but it has also prompted some ag suppliers and manufacturers to make strategic investments to find at least partial substitutes for synthetic fertilizers.

One of those manufacturers is Anuvia Plant Nutrients. At a recent field day near Cedar Falls, we were able to learn first-hand about a new product they?re introducing- SymTRX XP. Anuvia Chief Commercial Officer Hugh MacGillivray provided a summary of SymTRX XP and how it will help farmers.

The main effort of this project is to move away from synthetic fertilizers. Executive Vice President of Account Management and Sales Brent Bell said the method they?re using to deliver the microbials has never been done before.

Bell said future plans include the next generations of SymTRX XP that will add significant units of phosphorus, which will potentially offer excellent alternatives.
