Animal disease tracking requires identification

Animal identification remains a hot topic in the cattle industry.  

State and federal authorities began a process in the 1990’s to tag each animal and record their movement. The initial premise and today’s concern is disease traceability.

However, many cattle producers do not want information about their cattle or premises distributed to other parties. 

A veterinarian speaks about the need for moving forward, regardless of the method.
