Iowa farmers took out 43-percent of the state?s soybeans this past week.

They are now in the marathon of harvesting a very large corn crop. Corn harvest was 41-percent complete as of Sunday.

The reality of farming today is that grain prices are low. Many farmers are going to produce at a loss this year. It was just a few years ago that they enjoyed record prices.

This leads to uncertainty in what to do when prices are low. Should you cut back on inputs or go full bore to try to get the highest yield?
