Ag bankers examine state of farm economy

We start a new week of political controversy in Washington, D.C., continuing harvest across the Corn Belt and winter weather that is unusually harsh for this season.

Our thoughts are on our lives and our struggles, but none of these disagreements and first world problems would be possible without our veterans. Those of our lifetimes and before, who put their lives on the line to protect our freedom.

Last week, agricultural bankers met in Dallas for their annual convention. The mood of the group often indicates the state of the agricultural economy. There are several agricultural banks that are closing or selling. The reason is not what you think.
