The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) is holding its annual convention in Austin, Texas. They have celebrated agriculture, talked about challenges, and looked to the future. More importantly than all that, they have found a way to give back in a very big way.

Last year, the AFBF celebrated its 100th year. In recognition of the milestone, the AFBF Women?s Committee took on a year-long challenge of raising money to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities. This year, AFBF Women?s Leadership Committee Chair Sherry Saylor reported that their drive exceeded their goals by more than double.

Saylor says the challenge wasn?t just about money. It also had a heart. They provided meals to houses across the country and books for the children to read. Saylor says it was a great way to honor the Farm Bureau and give back to those who needed it.

Saylor says this challenge shows the strength of the Farm Bureau members.
