The 95th National FFA Convention and Expo is underway in Indianapolis. It?s expected to draw more than 65,000 FFA members, advisors and guests ? and bring them closer to the newest technologies in the ag industry. Scott Stump, CEO of the National FFA Organization, said the event brings students together and connects them with the ag industry.

?The hallmark has always been the Expo where all of those involved in the industry step forward and bring forth the latest and greatest in the new and emerging technology that?s out there,? Stump said. ?John Deere launched the commercial autonomous tractor this fall, and students will have the chance to interact with and understand more about how that technology is going to shape their future, and how they?re going to be involved in creating the next set of technology to drive change even further.?

Stump also says the convention is about networking, as dozens of colleges and ag businesses are in attendance and ready to meet with FFA members.

?We think lots and lots of people are involved in agriculture, but it’s an interestingly small circle,? Stump said. ?This event allows students to make connections not just with each other, but with the corporations that they’re going to join at some point along the line ? or be inspired to be the entrepreneur that’s going to start a business in partnership with someone else that they might have met at this event ? and be able to grow local communities across this nation.?

Stump added that, if you can?t make it to Indianapolis for the convention, you can still take part through your laptop or smartphone.

?For those that are not able to join us this year, please note that on ffa.org ? under the convention link ? you?ll be able to stream each of the convention session, so you can get the immersed in the convention from the comfort of your sofa or you’re a lazy boy chair, so join us in that connect in to the convention and see the great work that’s going on here of growing the next generation of leaders who are going to change the world,? Stump said.

The event runs through Saturday, October 29th, in Indianapolis. For more information, visit ffa.org.
