Nutrient reduction strategies are very much at the forefront of agriculture. Iowa is one of many states looking at how to do a better job managing this issue, but only one of a few states choosing not to legislate the changes. Educating producers on available options has been the long-term goal in Iowa.

When deciding to educate rather than legislate agricultural practices, you must make sure you have ample tools to do the job. 4R Plus?s Shawn Richmond tells us about new videos aimed at educating farmers and CCA?s.

Richmond says they have organized the information based on the different topographies of Iowa?s terrain. The message of 4R Plus has been, ?one size does not fit all.? By breaking down the information by terrain, producers can weed out practices not meant for their area.

The videos can be found on the 4R Plus website. The information is free to access for farmers and CCA?s who are looking for continuing education credits.

4R Plus encourages producers to do the research and see where the program can benefit their operation and soil health.
