[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]House Agriculture Committee Chairman Michael Conaway (R-TX) today unveiled the 2018 Farm Bill (House File HR-2).

Chairman Mike Conaway says the 2018 Farm Bill has been placed in the ?hopper,” despite a lack of support from committee Democrats.

Conaway says outside of disagreements regarding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) reform proposals, the bill was worked on and agreed to on a bi-partisan fashion.

Chairman Conaway assures his Democratic colleagues that all agreements are still in the bill.

Conaway says SNAP reform will include programs assisting people out of poverty through job training and individual state funding. This bill does not create additional federal job training programs.

The House Agriculture Committee plans to mark-up the bill next Wednesday.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
