Location: Decorah, IA. General Manager: Les Askelson

KVIK went on the air in August of 1994 as “K-Viking Gold” oldies radio. In 2009, the switch was made to “Classic Hits, The Viking.” KVIK’s call letters are a nod to Decorah’s rich Norwegian heritage and Vikings. The local high school’s mascot is also a Viking.

KVIK is a NASCAR racing station and broadcasts NASCAR races from the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and Performance Racing Network (PRN).

Community Involvement: KVIK, located on Water Street in Decorah, has a “showcase” studio. The station participates in many community support events, specifically “Fill The Food Shelf.” KVIK also assists with other fundraisers for various charities.
In the past two years, with the help of the Cresco Legion Riders, KVIK has raised over $10,000 to help support Winneshiek County K-9 Officer, Deputy McCoy. The funds were put toward expenses exceeding Winneshiek County’s budget, such as ongoing training, vet bills, food and additional expenses.
