While You Wait

?Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him.” -Psalm 37:7

I do not like to wait. I am a very impatient human being.

I’m convinced that my patience since birth has been thin.

There is recently something that Harold and I are really waiting on.

On Monday, we waited impatiently by the phone. We were waiting on a phone call that could really determine our future.

No phone call. No answer. No clarity…..yet. Instead, just more waiting.

Patience is not the ability to wait, but it’s how you act while you’re waiting.

Waiting is hard work, and at times it can really test our faith in who God is.

Patience is difficult.

We wait for prayers to be answered.

We wait to hear the news on a big life situation.

Waiting can tempt us to be impatient, discouraged, to worry, and even to wonder if God is really working.

God wants us to know that waiting is far from a passive activity in which we do nothing.

God wants us to actively participate in the work he desires to accomplish. God wants us to worship while we wait.

While you’re waiting continue to pray. Trust that God is who he says he is. Use this time for His glory. Anticipate what God is going do through this season of waiting.

Be a worshipper while you wait!

Prayer: “God, thank you for all the things you have accomplished in my life as I was in a waiting season. Help me to trust your timing. I want to be a worshiper while I wait.
