But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. -Isaiah 40:31

Last Saturday my family and I decided we wanted Olive Garden for dinner. What helped us make up our minds, was that Olive Garden was in the middle of their endless pasta starting at $9.99. Literally, there was endless breadsticks, soup or salad, and Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo. So, going to Olive Garden was a no-brainer.

Apparently, everyone else had the same idea my family and I did, because the wait for a table was an hour and ten minutes. My brothers were not willing to wait that long, and they let the rest of the family know it. My husband and I on the other hand, were content with waiting. We had plans for what we were going to do with the endless pasta. In the end, we all agreed to just wait because the food would be worth it.

What is worth the wait for you? One of my favorite authors, C.S. Lewis wrote, ?I am sure that God keeps no one waiting unless He sees that it is good for him to wait.? Do you trust God enough to just wait and see what he is doing?

I think sometimes we are really impatient. We want God to show himself and show what he is doing, and when he is going to do it.

When I have sat back and waited for God to come through, He has never disappointed.

When we wait upon God, our eyes are open to believing in His wise and sovereign will. The sooner and the more completely we yield to it, the more surely His blessing can come to us.

Waiting is established to teach us absolute dependence upon God?s mighty working, and through perfect patience, we place ourselves at His disposal.

Friend, God is worth waiting on. Be patient. He knows what you need. Waiting is not a waste in God?s economy.

Prayer: “God, thank you for being worth my wait. While I am waiting for you, I will worship and serve you. In your name I pray, Amen!”

………As far as the Olive Garden story goes, we waited, I got Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo. It was delicious. I also got a second helping that I got to put in a to-go box for the next days dinner. Like I said…it was worth it.
