During the month of October, Iowa motorists will begin seeing a lot of pink at several fuel stations across Iowa. The ‘Pink at the Pump’ campaign is a partnership between the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA), the Iowa Corn Promotion Board (ICPB) and National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to raise funds for breast cancer prevention and increase consumer awareness about cleaner-burning E15.

IRFA Managing Director Lucy Norton said, ?October is ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Month,’ and it’s a perfect time for Iowa E15 retailers to join forces with the National Breast Cancer Foundation to raise awareness about breast cancer and cleaner-burning E15.”

Around 30 E15 retailers in Iowa will be kicking off the campaign. The participating E15 retailers will donate 3-cents of every gallon of E15 sold from October 1 through October 31 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) which focuses on providing help and inspiring hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education and support services.

“Filling-up with E15 means you’re fueling your vehicle with a more environmentally-friendly fuel that contains less carcinogens than straight petroleum gasoline. Now, for the entire month of October, it also means you’re helping to combat breast cancer, Norton concluded.”
