Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey highlights water quality at Farm Progress Show. Secretary Northey will promote water quality efforts today at Farm Progress Show. He says there is opportunities for businesses to be involved in water quality.
?We all know that we are going to increase the amount of cover crops produced in Iowa. There?s opportunities for seed growers and folks who clean seed. We see opportunities for businesses to put in bioreactors and saturated buffers and wetlands.?
Northey adds there are also opportunities for equipment manufacturers to produce products that will allow us to use nutrients more efficiently.
He was the keynote speaker at the Rural Infrastructure Summit at Iowa State University Monday.
