Harvest in Iowa is well past the half way mark and some farmers are now looking at fall fertilization. It is time to make critical decisions on how to hold nitrogen for use next spring yet get the acres covered while mother nature?s window is open.
Ken Root spoke with Tim Book, a territory sales agronomist with Verdesian Life Sciences His expansive territory includes western Iowa, western Missouri and eastern Kansas.
When applying fall NH3, anhydrous ammonia, Book says there is a new nitrogen stabilizer that shows great promise with some adaptation of equipment.
He says Nutrisphere N has been tested on millions of acres and the technology works to keep the nutrient stable for plant use and to avoid leaching and degrading water quality.
