Land O’ Lakes Introduces New Sustainability Efforts

A new business unit, named SUSTAIN, will be formally organizing with Land O’Lakes, Inc. according to Land O’Lakes. SUSTAIN, will focus on aligning environmental sustainability efforts across the full Land O’Lakes, Inc. enterprise.

SUSTAIN will focus on ensuring sustainable crop production by delivering products, services, and insights, enhancing sustainability within the Dairy Foods and Feed businesses; partnering with other entities, including government, to improve efficiency and collaboration on conservation and sustainability programs.

Matt Carstens, will be leader of The SUSTAIN business. His experience spans retail, wholesale, and manufacturing functions in the crop inputs business. Carstens also was responsible for developing the sustainability business from his position as vice president of Ames, Iowa- based United Suppliers Inc. He has now moved to Land O’Lakes, Inc. to serve as senior vice president,

In October 2015, United Suppliers merged with Land O’Lakes. It now operates as Winfield US, a part of Land O’Lakes, Inc. In late 2017, a second step will merge United Suppliers’ crop nutrient business with Land O’Lakes.
